New ATI Processor announced

I stopped by ATI's CES exhibit yesterday. They are showing a new ATP-16 16 channel DSP based prepro with Atmos and X. It's powered by a new TI 1 GHz DSP that does all the processing. Auro is technically available but it's inclusion depends on further negotiations. Pricing to be announced. Availability should be Q1.

ATI was also showing new monoblock amps rated at 500W RMS, 8 oms based on bridged Hypex NC-500 modules. The monoblocks are essentially 1/2 of ATI's currently available AT542NC with (obviously) independent chassis and power supply.

As you should be. Unless you need 1200W RMS at 8 ohms, IMHO Prometheus is still Best in Class.

If you need the 1200 W, I'd recommend multiple bridged Dreadnaught D's!

According to ATI, the units are not the same.

Don't know. Physically the rear panel resembles the LS-10 but the LS-10 is SHARC based so the internals must be very different.

This will be released this spring ? Hope to see some reviews ! I was thinking the Monoprice is the same thing as ATI , but you are saying they are different, correct? Could be a big seller if reviews say it is TOP notch in sound quality. Praying it is . A wait and see.

Too many similarities, I think the Monoprice is based on this unit.

Nice picture from Stereophile , ATI immersive pre-processor ATP-16 and AT541 NC monoblock amplifier . I'm not surprised as many other brands OEM from ATI but in some different designed depend on products price level

As Monoprice says this is built in the US, I wouldn't be surprised if ATI is building it for Monoprice. Too bad its not ROON Ready though.
