I haven't been aware of the many H1 reviews since I left for China but the community has grown significantly. Here's a couple of videos talking about the recent firmware update, 4K and PS4 that should make some people happy (in Portugese so use youtube's auto translation and set it to English):

I think it's too early for an H3. Could be another product that supports 4K.

HDR colour pale problem

I have a Lune and found that when HDR content is played, the colour turned very pale and greyish. I found no setting our menu in Lune to turn HDR on or off. Wonder if this is also the case with other Xgimi HDR compatible projectors. I have never owned or tried other HDR supported projector or tv.

Today I have a revelation after visiting a local Sony showroom. The staff demo an A8 tv for me, he toggled the HDR function on/off to show me the difference. Guess what, when the HDR function in the A8 tv is turned OFF, the video turned all greyish and pale colour, and when it is turned ON, colour looks vivid and the grey becomea black giving high visual contrast.

I also tried playing HDR contents on my old notebook computer which does not support HDR, the colour is pale and greyish, like the Lune...

Based on the above, I stand corrected but can only surmise that the Lune does NOT really support HDR, or such function needs to be turned ON in some unknown secret menu.

Grateful for your comments and input. Thanks

Thanks Kraine, when you measure input lag can you minimise or turn off all the wifi/bluetooth/post-processing stuff first.

Also just a reminder, the Z6 and even the H1/H1S/H2 are portable projectors :-)

Kraine,

How about HDCP 2.2? I have not seen that mentioned in any literature so far.

Kraine,

One of the reviews on Amazon said the Z6 would not play 60Hz. That's important here in the US for me since Directv plays at 60Hz. Is there a way you can check that? Perhaps that user has an incorrect setting in his Z6.

Jack

do you know if it's possible to extract the international firmware then flash it to a Chinese os Z6?
I saw some Russians did something to their z6 to get Russian language

I'm still very happy with my H1 and just start trying to play some casual games on it. I started with "Brothers - a Tale of two Sons", a game I played first on my ShieldTV but couldn't finish when I quitted my subscription. Later I bought it in Google Playstore but never could get it running on shield TV.
My first attempt on the H1 was not very smooth but with stuttering - until I shut down all other running apps on the H1. After that the game ran smooth enough to play.
But I could not get my cheap chinese bluetooth gamepad paired with the H1. This may be due to low quality of the gamepad or maybe H1 is very picky about bluetooth accesseroy.

Now I'm about to buy a new, more standard gamepad. There are three pads that come into my mind:
1) Shield Game Controler (Vers. 2 with bluetooth)
2) XBox One S Controler
3) PS4 Controller
4) Snakebyte Android bluetooth controler - just as it is cheap
Shield controller would be great, as it would also upgrade my shieldTV to speech entry.
Does anybody have some experience with (one of) those gamepads or has a better recommendation for the H1?

1. Have you tried bringing the gamepad up close to the H1 during connection? Bluetooth and wifi can share the same frequencies so they can interfere with each other. sometimes during connection.
2. Have you updated your firmware?

I've tried several different bluetooth devices from JBL speakers to earphones and they all connect with no issues.

Tested the H1 connect to my HP laptop, seems to support 2160p input at 30Hz.

Yes, I have been just beside the H1 when trying to pair. I've also tried a FireTV Controller which was recognized by the H1, but didn't work at all. But I red later, that the FireTV Controller is known to be problematic. For example it works with windows only by some workarounds and additional software.
Also Firmware of H1 was actual.

My H1S has been behaving strangely since I tried to feed it a 4K video on YouTube. It played it on my PC just fine but since then, every 2 to 5 minutes, regardless of my resolution, it switches to 2160P without warning. And of course the res change results in loss of the picture for a couple of seconds. No issues while on a TV source such as my satellite receiver. This behavior only takes place on my PC.

It could be my receiver (Onkyo TX-NR929) but has anyone had this happen?

OK does anyone know how to contact xgimi support as they don't answer emails, the Web form is broken, they delete messages from their forum and don't even answer their amazon contact either.

I have the Z 6 polar. All I can say is, that for its price it delivers, but not out of the box.

The internal player is crap though, even using Kodi. It ll not looks bad, but wait until you hook up a good mediaplayer, like Zappiti or dune, it is another world. Contrast, blacks are much better. You can change the color settings, if you go in general menu, under brightness, and not video. I tempered the blue a lot, put back some green, and the image is much more natural, put sharpness rather low.

Yes the sound is not 100 % right, there is a lag. But for the rest, with some tweaking, using an external player, it is o much better then out of the box....

I like my HT, wine and pretty girls. But...am I the only one

Planning in buying the Z6.

Is the audio delay fixed? As I will have to use the projector speakers for the time being.

It will be used in a night stand, in a small bedroom. Can We adjust the image in case its to big for the wall/screen displayed? It will be around 2.5 to 3meters (90 to 120 inches) from the wall.

How does it react if played directly into the wall (white colour) ?

Thanks for the help, newbie in the projector world

BT sound delay not fixed, better use wired but the built in sound is bit louder now
yes you can decrease the screen size.

see pics for reference, milky white wall 2.1 meters from wall about 85 inches screen size.

there are presets of about 5 or 7 & you could cycle around those, some with high FI to less FI & brightness or you can turn it off if your not into the SOE. avoid using the digital trapezoidal adjustment & set all to 0-0 & align the screen via placement also 3D will not work if you used the trapezoid adj.

XGIMI Repair Info

Getting an H1 that has issues - washed out display. Are there any repair services for this projector in US? Is it worth trying to repair? Any source for a service manual?

Any suggestions appreicated.
