So I guess the chances of getting a 60in F8500 are none?

Have the last supplies been sent to BB's etc?

Call the 888 best buy number and see if a customer service rep can find one by looking for the sku in their system. It's a very big long shot but the BB CSR might be able to find one in a store that's not listed in official inventory but is not claimed (set aside for customer). When my order got messed up, the BB CR rep was able to find one like this...turned out it was the one I ordered (even had the bb.com order number on it) but it showed me that they have a way to search for things. Admittedly, I got lucky the CSR knew what she was doing and how to do that type of search.

Maybe someone cancels an order after it arrives at the local BB store.

I guess there was quite a deal on these a few weeks ago, or maybe Nov., are they now generally back up in price if you can get them? Any 51" around?

I hesitated, but am now looking for one of the three available Sammy models as I'm not that happy with my Panny S64 and this is it for Plasma. It's a shame.

Check Best Buy. I've seen some suggestions they still might have a few 51" F8500 in some regions. For instance, in Texas the BB website says it's still available for store pick up.

Call all Bestbuy stores in the surrounding area zipcodes of where you live.

BB tracking system isn't the best in checking their own inventory. You might get lucky and find one
sitting in the back of store.

Also, check out Cleveland Plasma. They're an AVS forum sponsor and I've heard very good things about them both from price standpoint and customer satisfaction standpoint. I saw in Chris' (Cleveland Plasma) signature recently he indicated he has the F8500 in all sizes.

Depends? On craigslist? Best Buy? Pawn shop? For a 51" brand new it's 999.99 and for a 60" it's 1,499.99 and for a 64" it's 2,499.99.

Good luck! These are drying up fast!!

lack of gradients can be annoying depending on the source. I notice it in Forza 5 for instance. On the plus side it has the best input lag of the last of the plasmas so take it or leave it.

Someone can take my 60" warehouse deal on amazon when it goes back lol.

Best buy is literally like someone found a warehouse full of them, mine was built in 2013 with 0 hours. and I've only had it for three weeks.

Good luck, it is a fantastic picture.

Subscribed to this thread. I am replacing my current TV and was going to get a 4k set but if I can find one of these I am going to get it instead...wait until they can come to some sort of standards agreement on next gen. Is there a set comparable to this one?

Sorry for the late reply, but in case you were still curious:

The main issues I have with it is the PQ when the material is in darker scenes, which is a lot. Dithering/noise is high, color fidelity drops and posterization is bad. Plasma is generally so good at conveying the filmmakers intentions and showing off the desired "look"...this goes out the window when the light levels drop on this tv. Everything looks muddy and dull.

Posterization is really bad on streaming content. Watching the new Godzilla movie, a dark film, over streaming was really bad.

It's not just streaming though, because OTA material has some of these issues as well. Though a lot of OTA is 720p, so maybe this factors in as well.

I haven't had much chance to watch Blu-Ray, so I can't quite isolate this to just being the tv being poor at anything less than Blu-Ray or not. Unfortunately it doesn't really matter though, because in practical terms I stream and watch OTA as well, so need it to shine there as well.

Motion blurring is bad as well. The strength of plasma supposedly and Panny makes a model at the height of Plasma's power with poor motion?

It's really frustrating because when light levels come up, the picture is awesome!

Who knows, maybe I have a dud, people rave about it, but in my experience people aren't all the perceptive in general. Not trying to be a snob, but that's often the case. A lot of people can't tell the difference between LCD and Plasma and there are mentions of the noise/dithering issues with the tv. Posterization and motion as well.

Hello everyone,
I have a new Samsung PN60F8500 New in an Unopened box for sale. It is brand new and has factory warranty. I am asking $2,750.00 for it plus shipping if you cannot pick it up locally.
Look up the reviews and its considered the top of the line plasma's along with the Panasonic VT's and ZT's. These models are discontinued and are still better quality then the LED's in todays market (in my opinion).
Contact me if interested.
Thank you,
M

You have to have best source to begin with, even at best streams Don't compare to blu ray , that aside maybe You're expecting better? In future oled .. And lcd to plasma quality is ver noticeable...
