A mock for exhibit was shown at the January CES show. Just google Panasonic 65 inch OLED TV. A couple articles will show up. In one article a rep said it would be released late 2015. But then I read in another article that Panasonic reps got all in a titter saying this was not true. They have not announced any commercial release dates or plan to at this time. The rumor is if it is announced this year. It will be at the IFA Show in Berlin in September. As one article stated. Considering Panasonic's reputation for video processing. The videophibes are very excited if this TV is eventually released. The fact Panasonic is working on a mock is encouraging. I also read that other manufacturers may cut deals with LG for OLED display and then make their own OLED TV's.

Anybody recently come across online dealers or private users selling used or new 51" or 60" sets?

Might help if you posted your location or added it permanently below your avatar in settings.

I might be offering my second unused, still-boxed 51". Waiting for a family member to come see the 51" that I have in use, in case they decide they might want the second one.

Only doing local pickup though, should they decide not to go for it.

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, looks like we are too far apart for a local pick up. I very much appreciate the offer!

I picked up a pn60f5300 two months ago from HHGregg, for $699. Pretty slim pickings nowadays.

I doubt that.....unless there is a benefit other than financial -- like Samsung's vertical integration at the corporate level -- the fact is that making/selling TV's just isn't a profitable business. The price competition is too fierce and the CAPX too high.

OLED pricing is falling, and by 2020 (if not sooner) it will likely be where plasma/LCD TVs are in 2015.

The days of Japanese (and Korean) corporations subsidizing money-losing operations is coming to an end. Just compare how many flat panel TV makers there were in the early-2000's to today (about 20 down to 6 or 7).

You may even see Sony exit TV's.

Very good price, about 15% more than what I paid at BB in May, but a fair price and better than paying gougers on Ebay or Craigslist.

In Toronto, 2001 Audio Video is offering new plasmas. Some Samsung's, 1 LG and a Panasonic. Free shipping anywhere in Canada on sets over 43 inch. Not all their stores have every model but every model they show is available at at least 1 of their stores (according to their website).

Is Panasonic making HDTVs in 2015 ? I thought they totally exited...tough to exit and then come back and win back high-end customers.

They never "exited" - they were making LEDs along with the plasmas, and since have continued making LEDs including 4K models.

Hauppauge is roughly a hour from the Throgs Neck Bridge, without traffic

Displays are like 100% cotton t-shirts. Always buy a size larger than you think you'll need, as they tend to shrink over time.
