Thanks man. Yeah it was a dramatic difference last time we sat them vertical all the way up to the baffle wall so I'm thinking this will have the same effect. Also filled In a few more gaps.

So fired the 4 up for the first time since finishing the baffle wall port extension areas for a few buddies that stopped in and all I can say is wow. Super tactile feels like there's a buttkicker in each chair and the midbass is just awesome the john wick 2 tunnel scene is awesome in there

Yeah standing in front of the two mouths on the stage was exhilarating. It’s so weird to not see a cone moving, but getting hit with shockwaves of bass energy. I wish I could understand why horns are so completely different and louder. I get it, but not really well enough to explain to someone else.

Have you done the club scene from the first John Wick movie? If I remember the gun shots are a bit deeper than the tunnel scene.

Same principle as a tuba or a cheerleader's bull horn. Instead of a person blowing into the throat, a large woofer is doing the blowing.

You are coupling the driver to the atmosphere much more efficiently using the horn.

Hey an hour is not bad! 30 seconds, I am in trouble. The toddler gets scared and confused as to why the upstairs is shaking lol. I heard a few reports of sinus running from the gunshots in that scene at one of the local GTGs... if that becomes a goal you could find yourself adding two more 21s

Are you doing conventional boxes or horns stacked for nearfields?

I was going to custom modify my cyclops boxs to work but I think I'm going to build custom ported boxs or if I could find a decently shallow horn I might do that

There ya go buddy!
Honestly a decent sized box with 2 4” precision ports would be unreal nearfield. Per driver.

The two 18's nearfield was fun too but the horn on the riser is something else...

You should really buy a TermLab or SPL Lab mic so that we can see what the max-spl is.

A UMIK-1 isn't gonna cut it, those are only useful for EQ'ing at lower SPL sweeps.
115db is around the maximum you'd ever want to sweep using a UMIK-1, otherwise the mic will start to show signs of clipping and adding THD of it's own.

You should really change the video titles and descriptions to something other than hexadecimals...
assuming you ever want the videos to be found.

I posted the vids. I really don’t care if people find the vids, other then through the threads I posted them in. I’m such a noob at the posting videos thing.
I saw your comment on the vid about the umik. I don’t know about the 130db mod.

I understand. Looks like the cyclops design would fit that bill. That is what I did before I moved them to the front stage.

Room is looking sweet by the way. Nice hustle on getting in done. Couldn't have been easy.

Lol jk 7.2 said the same thing. If I did another 2 my wife I think would literally kill me. That's why I'm holding off on the nearfield for a bit. Going to throw the cyclops back in the back for the time being.
