Perhaps.

I just never could wrap my mind around how a company with so many excellent products, deals with OEMs, etc. etc...can be that damn dysfunctional. Most audio companies could only dream of the levels of success TC had and could have had. It is just pitiful.

Now, I am wishing I would have snagged 3 more when I they were around.

I made the very bad assumption that if they were available at PE, then they would be around perpetually.

This is why if I see subs that are good and a good deal, buy them if possible. Never know if they’re available long term, usually not, actually. Adire, blueprint, Tc, etc etc it’s a tough gig. Of course the tech gets better so doesn’t always work out but a quality driver at a good price is worth it.

There is a local guy (AZ) who runs Robot Underground who, as far as I know, can rebuild these things and maybe even make some new steps forward. He regularly builds all sorts of new subs and even holds a school to teach you how to do the same yourself. I need to schedule some time to go talk with him.

IIRC from my car audio days, this outfit (and the guy who owns/runs it) was very sketchy to deal with, especially if you had an issue with something they sold. There's threads on diymobileaudio and stevemeadedesigns about him. But, people can and do change their ways. Caveat emptor.

Racked: Marantz AV-7005, Oppo BDP-105d, Custom-built HTPC, Custom-built enterprise media server (21TB, expandable), Soundstream DA-2 (x2), Cinepro 3k6SE3 Gold (x2)
Making noise: Fosgate Audionics MC-220 LCRs, SD-180 Dipoles, Twin MartyCubes w/SI HT-18's.

+1

At least there is hope! If he can source the baskets and motors, there is potential.
